World Oil Demand : The world oil demand growth estimate for the present year has once again been revised down as preliminary lower oil consumption data for July, August and in some instances September indicates a slow-down in oil and petroleum product demand in some important consuming countries. Thus, after the sixth consecutive revision, world oil demand growth is now estimated at 1.2 mb/d – 1.4% y-oy growth – with a yearly average of 83.26 mb/d.More...

Saudi Arabia Evolves into a Global Petrochemicals Hub
Capital investment in hydrocarbon sub-sectors in Saudi Arabia is slated to reach $94.4 billion in the years 2004-2009 according to Dr. Abdulwahab AlSadoun, the Director General of the Energy Sector at the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA). GE Wins Qatar Order to Build LNG 'Super-Trains’ 
GE has announced that its oil and gas business unit recently received orders to build five additional liquefied natural gas (LNG) "super-trains" following an agreement with Qatar Petroleum Group for the supply of equipment and services signed in December 2004. As per the new orders, GE's oil and gas business unit will provide three Frame 9E gas turbines and six centrifugal compressors for each super-train. More...

Sociedade Nacional de Combust?veis de Angola (Sonangol) and BPannounced the 'Hebe-1' oil discovery in ultra-deepwater Block 31, offshore Angola. Hebe-1 is the ninth successful discovery BP has drilled in Block 31, following Plut?o, Saturno, Marte, Venus, Palas, Ceres, Juno and Astraea.
