Petrofac secures new gas plant contract in Oman
International oil services company Petrofac has secured a contract with the Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Oil & Gas (MOG) to build a new gas plant in the Kauther field in north Oman.The single-train plant will recover valuable gas and condensate reserves.The Kauther field is being developed and operated by Petroleum Development Oman (PDO) on behalf of the MOG. Occidental to Develop Major Oman Oil Field
Occidental Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:OXY) announced today that it has signed a Heads of Agreement with the government of Oman to develop the Mukhaizna oil field, one of the largest oilfields in Oman. Under the terms of a new Production Sharing Contract, Occidental will be operator of the field. Occidental's partner in the project is Liwa Energy Limited, which is owned by Mubadala Development, the investment and development company wholly owned by the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.  More...
 

8 international firms submit bids for KNPC's new oil refinery
Eight international companies have submitted bids in response to a tender floated by the Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) to build a new oil refinery reports Al-Seyassah quoting an official oil source. "Eight international companies from among the qualified and specialized nine have submitted their bids. Some smaller companies are also expected to submit their bids before August which is the period fixed by KNPC for interested companies to submit their bids," said the source. KNPC invited international companies for a pre-qualification round two weeks ago for participation in the project with an estimated cost of $5 billion, say sources.  More...

OMV has signed a new Production Sharing Agreement with the Ministry of Oil and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Yemen. Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd. GASCO, has confirmed the award of the contract for Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Commissioning Works, EPC, for Asab Gas Development Phase-II, AGD-II Project to M/s Bechtel at a lump sum price of US Dollars 1,241 million (One Billion and Two Hundred and Forty one Million) around Four and a Half Billion UAE Dirhams. ExxonMobil Starts Third Major Development Offshore Angola Early
Exxon Mobil Corporation (NYSE:XOM) announced today that its subsidiary, Esso Exploration Angola (Block 15) Limited, has started production of the $3.5 billion Kizomba B project, designed to develop 1 billion barrels of oil from the Kissanje and Dikanza fields in approximately 3,280 feet (1,000 meters) of water more than 200 miles (322 kilometers) off the coast of Angola..
