Total Provides Yemen Oil Discovery
Total announced the successful production test of the well Jathma-1 in the East Shabwa Development Area, block 10, in Yemen. Jathma-1 is the first of a 3-well exploration program targeting a new prospective area in the northern part of Block 10. Statoil Awards Drilling Contract in Algeria
Statoil has secured two rigs for exploration drilling on land in Algeria. Plans call for drilling of the group's first exploration well on the Statoil-operated Hassi Mouina block to begin in the summer. The contracts with Nabors Drilling and Enafors have a combined value of about NOK 210 million (USD 32 million). The contract period lasts until March 2008 with opportunities for extension. Eni Brings Forward the Expansion of TTPC and TAG Pipelines
Eni’s Board of Directors has approved the decision to bring forward the increase in 6.6 billion cubic meters a year of capacity of the TTPC and TAG pipelines to 1 April 2009. The increase was formerly scheduled for 1 October 2011. The expanded capacity of the TTPC pipeline, which transports Algerian gas to Italy through Tunisia, will carry 3.2 billion cubic metres of gas per year from 1 October 2008, and 3.3 billion cubic metres per year from 1 April 2009.
