In this presentation, the presenter will conduet a critical review of concepts and claims and some preliminary insights from CSIRO’s laboratory and modelling studies on assessing the efficiency of different microbial processes, including:

• Detailing examples of MEOR field trials, which ones are truly valid tests
• Highlighting lessons and design of previous lab and field experiments on microbiological prospecting and sequencing to identify suitable microbes
• Evaluating CSIRO’s MEOR laboratory experiments in porous media, including experimental setup, preliminary analytical results and outline of biogeochemical and reservoir modelling
