The presentation will showcase the process of revival of a Miscible Gas injection pool which, after putting in production and due to inadequate gas injection, had a 30% decline in the reservoir pressure with a cumulative oil production of only 5% of OIIP. Ram will share the approach, research and analysis his team undertook to turnaround this pool, with an envisaged ultimate oil recovery of 57% of OIIP for the pool and 53% for the entire reservoir. Other areas that will be tackled include:

• How the refined geological models offer, improved understanding of the extent and demarcations of all oil pools in a reservoir, including any miscible pool
• The importance of understanding the processes affecting hydrocarbon accumulation and distribution of OIIP in different pools, for effective management of EOR processes
• How important issues regarding reservoir stimulation are answered by carrying out compositional simulation with GEM, using seven pseudo component EOS model
• The critical significance of the parameters derived for the Simulation Study, such as change in Minimum Miscibility Pressure (MMP) with change in composition of injected gas
